For Guests
How does SeaSeatShare work?
SeaSeatShare connects you with verified captains offering shared boat trips across the UAE. Browse available trips, select your seats, and book securely. Your card is held until the trip reaches its minimum guest count, then charged automatically.
What happens if the trip doesn't reach the minimum seats?
If a trip doesn't reach its minimum number of guests before the cutoff time (usually 24 hours before departure), it's automatically cancelled. Your card hold is released and you're never charged.
How do refunds work?
Refunds are automatic in two cases: the trip doesn't reach its seat goal, or the captain cancels. Guest-initiated cancellations are not eligible for refunds. Refunds are processed back to your original payment method within 5-10 business days.
Is my payment secure?
Yes. All payments are processed through Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. SeaSeatShare never stores your card details. Your card is authorized (held) at booking and only charged when the trip confirms.
What should I bring on a trip?
Check your booking details for included equipment. Generally bring sunscreen, sunglasses, comfortable clothing, and water. For diving trips, basic gear is usually provided. The captain will list any specific requirements on the trip page.

How do I become a captain?
Click "Become a Captain" on our homepage and complete the 5-step onboarding: add your profile, upload your Emirates ID and Maritime License, sign our platform agreement, connect Stripe for payouts, and wait for KYC approval (usually within 24-48 hours).
What documents do I need?
You need a valid UAE Emirates ID and a Maritime License issued by a recognized UAE authority. Both documents must be clear, legible scans or photos. Additional vessel documentation (insurance, registration) is required when adding your boat.
How much commission does SeaSeatShare take?
SeaSeatShare charges 10% commission on bookings when you use Stripe Connect for payouts, or 15% if you opt for manual bank transfers. The commission is deducted automatically from each completed trip's earnings.
When do I get paid?
Payouts are processed after each trip completes. With Stripe Connect, funds typically arrive in 2-3 business days. Bank transfer payouts are processed within 5-7 business days. You can track all payouts in your captain dashboard.
How does the seat-goal system work?
You set a minimum guest count (the seat goal) for each trip. Guests can book seats, but their cards are only held (not charged) until the goal is met. If the minimum isn't reached 24 hours before departure, the trip auto-cancels and all holds are released.
